Privacy policy

Summary (the short version)

Markout sees only Crexi and LoopNet pages you personally open in your own browser. We store a copy of the structured listing data Markout extracts so we can tell you when anything changes. We never collect your Crexi or LoopNet password, never read any other website, never sell your data, and never share it with advertisers. If you turn off cloud sync, nothing leaves your machine at all.

What Markout is

Markout is a Chrome extension built by 007 Technologies LLC that watches commercial real estate listings on Crexi and LoopNet from the user's own logged-in browser session and surfaces changes those platforms don't proactively notify about. Markout is currently in public beta. 007 Technologies LLC is the data controller for the purposes of this policy.

The "user-session-only" model

Markout never logs into Crexi or LoopNet on your behalf. It only reads the contents of pages you have personally opened in your browser, the same way any browser extension does. There is no headless scraper, no server-side fetcher, no credential storage. We don't know your Crexi or LoopNet username or password and we have no way to access either platform without your session.

Chrome Web Store data categories

The Chrome Web Store requires every extension to declare what data it handles. For Markout the answer is:

• Website content — specifically, the public, already-loaded HTML of Crexi.com and LoopNet.com listing pages and search pages, only. Markout does not run on any other website.
• User activity — telemetry about which Markout features were used (e.g. popup_opened, snapshot_recorded), tied to your random install ID. Disable in Settings.
• Personally identifiable information — only the email address you optionally provide for daily digests.

What we collect, in detail

• Listing snapshots. When you open a Crexi or LoopNet listing page, Markout extracts structured fields from the rendered HTML — address, asking price, status, sqft, broker name, days on market, cap rate, NOI, description hash, etc. These snapshots include a URL pointing back to the public listing page.
• Change events. When two consecutive snapshots of the same listing differ, Markout records the change (e.g. "price dropped 5%") so it can show you a timeline and send a daily digest.
• Your install ID. A random UUID generated the first time you install the extension. Not tied to your name, IP address, or any external account.
• An optional email address. Only if you turn on email digests in Settings, and only to send those digests to you.
• Anonymous usage telemetry. A whitelisted set of event names (e.g. popup_opened, snapshot_recorded, digest_sent) keyed to your install ID. We use this to understand which features work and which break. No PII, no listing content, no scraping of unrelated pages. You can disable telemetry in Settings.
• Liveness heartbeats. A small ping (no listing content) sent at most once per day per install so we can tell that the extension is still running. Used solely to detect installs that have silently stopped working.

What we do not collect

• Your Crexi or LoopNet login credentials.
• The contents of any page outside of Crexi.com and LoopNet.com.
• Your browsing history.
• Your IP address (Cloudflare logs are not retained or shared).
• Any data from other browser extensions or other tabs.

Where the data lives

If cloud sync is enabled (the default), structured snapshots and change events are sent to a Cloudflare Worker we operate at markout-api.reedengleman.workers.dev, and stored in a Cloudflare D1 SQLite database keyed to your install ID. The database is hosted on Cloudflare infrastructure in the United States. If you turn cloud sync off in Settings, all data stays in your browser's local storage and never leaves your machine.

How long we keep it

Listing snapshots, change events, and per-listing history are retained as long as your install is active so we can show you the full timeline of a listing you're tracking. If you uninstall the extension or request deletion, we delete all records keyed to your install ID within thirty (30) days. Aggregate, non-identifying statistics (e.g. "n installs were active last month") may be retained longer.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, share, or otherwise disclose your snapshots, install ID, or any other data to third parties. There are no advertising networks. There is no analytics SDK. There are no third- party tracking scripts in the extension or the dashboard. Cloudflare operates the underlying infrastructure (Workers, D1, Pages) and has its own infrastructure-level privacy practices.

Email delivery

If you opt in to daily digests or use one-time sign-in codes, we use Resend (resend.com) to deliver those emails. Your email address is shared with Resend solely for delivery purposes. Resend operates its own privacy practices governing message delivery and analytics.

Third-party processors

• Cloudflare — Workers, D1 database, Pages hosting. Underlying infrastructure operator.
• Resend — sends transactional emails (one-time sign-in codes, daily digests) to addresses you provide.
• Anthropic — used to classify market-intelligence content. No listing snapshots, install IDs, emails, or other personally identifying data are sent to Anthropic.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising networks, session replay tools, or third-party trackers anywhere in Markout.

Your controls

• Turn off cloud sync in Settings — all data stays local.
• Turn off telemetry in Settings — no events leave your machine.
• Turn off email digests at any time.
• One-click "Wipe everything" in Settings — clears every listing, history entry, feed event, and preference.
• Uninstall the extension — removes the install ID, local data, and stops all collection.

Children

Markout is a tool for commercial real estate professionals. It is not designed for, marketed to, or intended for anyone under 18.

Changes

We'll update this page when we change anything material. The "Effective" date at the top is authoritative.

US privacy rights

Residents of California (under the CCPA / CPRA), Virginia, Colorado, Texas, and other states with applicable privacy laws may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about them. To exercise these rights, email [email protected] from the address tied to your install. We will verify the request via that email and respond within forty-five (45) days. Markout does not "sell" personal information as defined by any of these statutes.

International users

Markout is operated from the United States. By installing the extension you consent to the transfer of the limited data described above to the United States and its processing under U.S. law.
